Fairview's Not-So-Daily Log
2020 started out strong for us here at Fairview. We had a fairly mild winter which allowed our crews to keep our jobs moving along steadily. And then COVID-19 happened which did slow us a down for a bit until we got familiar with the new safety procedures. At which point we were full steam ahead.
If you've been following us on Instagram, then you already know we have several homes in the works! So far in 2020, we have wrapped up 8 new construction builds and have started 6 new ones (not including renovations and basement finishes). It's suffice to say that our crew has not had a dull moment yet this year!
Now that we are halfway, I figured it's time to share a little bit about what we have been up to! Although, if you want real-time updates, Instagram is the place to be (@fairviewloghomes).
This Square White Cedar Log Home was recently finished and ready for our clients to move in! The home has a clean, sleek feel to it with the square rafters, beams and railings. Black was a great choice for an accent color because it compliments the cedar logs perfectly. We love that the clients chose a black metal roof and then tied it all together with black windows and doors.

The interior photos feature the gorgeous front door package, as well as the hand crafted stairway and open loft area. This home has alllll the cozy wood feels!
This next home is actually a conventional build we did! This project was for some good friends of ours and we are grateful for the opportunity to help bring their dream home to life. The husband has a more rustic taste and his wife wanted a Modern Farmhouse feel. The home ended up being a combo of the two with a gorgeous Timber Frame touch!
The 3,691 square foot house sits beautifully on a hill overlooking the rolling Ohio hills. Even though it's not a log home we still had the opportunity to do some staining!! How cool are those beams!? We were stretched out of our normal deco-truss-comfort-zone, but we definitely weren't mad about it!
Can we just take a moment to admire those custom hardwoods? One of my favorite things about this kitchen is the pantry door. It just adds some extra personality to this space. To the right you will see the Great Room when it was still in the works, but I had to show you those oak trusses! Unfortunately, this is the most recent photo I have of that space. But don't worry - we will take professional photos soon!
Now that you've seen a couple homes we finished up this year - here is a home that we just started a few weeks ago!
We actually are starting to install the roof covering today and the doors are being delivered, but I couldn't wait to show you the progress so far! This home was built with 8" x 8" Eastern White Pine Saddle Notch Logs, but the exterior posts and trusses are Round Rustic Lodgepole Pine!

The photo on the left shows a bit of the second floor and the photo on right is inside the bonus room above the garage (I think..).. Our crew takes photos for us and I believe that is what they mentioned - but I'm sure they will correct me if I'm wrong! Ha!
Of course, these are just a few of the homes that we have been working on this year but I will try to do a better job of keeping ya'll updated as things progress!
I have only been working here for a little over a year, but I don't think I will get tired of seeing homes go from a drawing on paper to a full-blown house. I hope that you also see the fun in that and don't get tired of my posts about it! Hopefully you will see some more updates soon and it won't go another 6 months.
